Green tea is produced mainly in China, Japan and Taiwan, and to a lesser extent in India. During manufacture the green tea leaves are repeatedly rolled and fired until crisp. This repetitious rolling liberates the green tea's juices which are held in the finished leaf and gives the loose leaf green tea its distinct flavor. This rolling also gives the green tea leaves their charateristic twist.
